The transition from adolescent to adult can be a difficult path to navigate. There are so many expectations that we put on ourselves, and are designed by others around us; to know what we’re doing, where we’re going, getting it right and succeeding!
The crossroads that young adults find themselves at is one that is exciting but equally daunting, the path may initially feel like the right one but a few strides in and it can feel perilous and uncertain. Young adults may feel like they need to return to the crossroads and choose a different path, or carry on the same path but recognising they can only do so with additional support. Launching into a career, the workplace, college/university or indeed just adult life with all its expectations and responsibilities can impact on self-confidence, self-esteem and self-identity. It is a time of significant change and development in our lives and one during which we want to become more in control of our destiny.
“Helen has been helping me for a while now. I would not be the person I am today if it wasn’t for her, she helped me through struggles I never thought I would overcome. I do not know what I would have done without her. Helen has more than just helped me, she has become a friend” Haris V
